Funeral services for Reinhart John Schlitter were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Martin funeral home with burial in Council Hill cemetery in Monona.

Mr. Schlitter, who had been ill for the past two years, died at the Veterans Memorial hospital Friday, May 4. He had been a patient there for one day.

He was born March 17,1882 in Monona, and was a son of Albert Schlitter and Karoline Sheck. He lived in Allamakee county all of his life and attended the local schools.

June 29, 1921 his marriage to Ethel Bray took place, and they moved to Waukon, 16 years ago.

Mrs. Schlitter preceded him in death and he is survived by the following children, Mrs. Cletus McKee, Lansing; Edward of Waterloo; three step-sons, Harold Meskimmons, Pittsfield, Ill.; Carl and Earl Meskimmons, both of Emmetsburg. Two children, Laurence and Evelyn, also preceded him in death. There are 16 grandchildren, and a brother, Otto Schlitter of McGregor.

He was a member of the Evangelical church in Monona. The Rev. Mr. John C. Creps of Lansing officiated at the funeral.
