Rites Held For Former Resident

Alice Krumm Schmidt, daughter of Charles and Wilhelmine Schierholz Krumm, was born March 13, 1887, near Postville, Iowa. She was confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church on March 23, 1902. She received her education in the rural schools.

Most of her adult life she lived in Madison, Wisconsin. She was hospitalized in a Madison hospital since April, 1960. She passed away September 9, 1961 at the age of 74 years, five months, and 26 days.

Surviving are two sons, Carl Schmidt of Minot, North Dakota, and Conrad Schmidt of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ed Lammert of Postville; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. Alvina, Jessie, Malinda, and Minnie (Mrs. Wilmar Nordin).

Funeral services were held at the Fitch Lawrence Funeral Home on September 12 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Charles A. Puls of Lutheran Memorial Church officiating. Burial was at Forest Hill cemetery.
