Robert Sander Schutte

Services for Robert S. Schutte, 62, were held Monday, Nov. 10, 1980 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Robert Sander Schutte, son of Charles and Ida (Sander) Schutte, was born Oct. 21, 1918 in Grand Meadow Township. He died Nov. 7, 1980 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

He was baptized by the Rev. Schmidt at his farm home and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. He attended school at Luana. Robert served in the U. S. Army during WW II.

Sept 18, 1945 he was married to Esther Neverman at Monona. They farmed there until 1961 when they moved to the Postville area and then to town in 1974. He worked at the Postville Implement for eight years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a stepmother, Ida, a brother, Art and twin grandsons.

Surviving are his wife, four sons: Dale, Rochelle, Ill.; Roger and Milton, both of Postville; and Luther of Luana; two daughters: Mrs. Curtis (Roberta) Dreier and Mrs. Randy (Carmen) Schultz, both of Postville; ten grandchildren; three brothers; Charles, Luana; Harry, Monona; and Reuben, Ossian; two sisters; Mrs. Ethel Meyer, Ossian and Doris Ann Schutte, Postville.
