Mrs. ERNEST SHAFER

Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon for Mrs. Ernest Shafer, of whose passing on January 5, 1943 at the age of 74 years we made brief mention last week. The Rev. F. R. Ludwig held brief services at the Schutte Funeral Home in this city after which the remains were taken to the Bethlehem church in Ludlow where the Rev. Klosterbuer conducted services. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Shafer was born in Ludlow township on September 19, 1868, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Klocke. She was married to Ernest Shafer January 12, 1886, and to this union were born six children, Carl, Paul, Ben and Ed Shafer, Mrs. August Held and Mrs. Paul Fiet, all of whom, together with the husband, survive.
