Funeral services were held on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, Iowa for Colleen Jane (Flack) Parkman, age 52, formerly of Postville, Iowa, who died July 8, 2012 in the state of Mississippi. Colleen was born on August 31, 1959 in Castalia, Iowa to Leslie and Betty (Wedo) Flack.

Colleen married Gary Brainard on January 15, 1977. They had four children and later divorced. She graduated from the Postville High School in Postville in 1978. Colleen moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 1995 where she married Dan Parkman in 2002.

Colleen is survived by her three sons Jed (Shaunda) Brainard of Spring Grove, Minnesota, Luke (Mollie Anderson) Brainard of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and Jessey (Katy Swift) Brainard of Postville; 17 grandchildren Desirae, Tristan, Kaitlyn, Cassandra, Katrina, Caleb, and Jesse James Brainard, Tyler, Trent, Tanner Thesing, Hunter, Hailey, Logan, Daisy, Violet Shipp, and Lainee Cannady; her siblings Nancy Ondrashek, Maggie Scheffert, Terry (Joleen) Flack, Rodney (Julie) Flack, Skyla (Scott) Vargason; and many nieces and nephews.

Colleen is preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Brainard; her husband Dan Parkman; her parents Leslie and Betty Flack; brother-in-laws Donnie Ondrashek and Ronald Scheffert; two nieces and two nephews.
