William N. Steward, who passed away at Cherokee Hospital on Wednesday, February 23, 1949 was buried in the Postville cemetery on Monday following services in the Schutte Funeral Home. Masonic services were held in the Temple at Sanborn.

William N. Steward, formerly of Mason City, died at a Cherokee hospital on February 23, 1949. He was born near Polo, Illinois, February 2, 1870. When about four years old, he moved with his family to Algona. He began railroading in 1887 and retired in 1935. He is survived by his wife, Maude; one daughter, Ruth Todd of San Bruno, California; two sons, Clyde and Max, both of California; three grandchildren; a half brother and two half sisters.
