Death of Lifelong Resident.

Wm. Waters died last Thursday morning at his home in Waukon after several weeks’ illness with intestinal flu. He was the son of Ed Waters, born in Union City Township Nov. 10, 1862, where he spent his youthful days. He was married 49 years ago next February at Dorchester to Catherine McLaughlin who, with a son John of Madison, Wis., and four daughters, Mrs. Vic Zoll of Waukon, Mrs. Thos. Mahoney of Union Prairie township, Mrs. Joe Murphy of Chicago and Mrs. Thomas Welch of French Creek are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father; also a brother, John Waters of Union City township and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Reburn of New Albin.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. Patrick’s church, Rev. Father McDonald officiating and burial took place in the Lycurgus cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Mike Ryan, J. J. Murphy, B.F. Mahoney, Joe Zoll, Thos. Welch.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Murphy; Dorothy Zoll, Merrill Murphy, Chicago, and Katherine Mahoney, Dubuque.
