Rites Held For Mrs. Work
Burial rites for Mrs. Merle Work, the former Patricia Myers, daughter of Mrs. J. W. Myers of Postville, will be held Thursday morning, January 12, 1956, at the Postville cemetery.
Rosary will be said Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. at the Myers residence.
Mrs. Merle Work, formerly Patricia Myers, daughter of Mrs. Therese Myers and the late Dr. J. W. Myers of Postville, died Saturday evening, January 7, 1956 in Denver, Colorado.
Mrs. Work was born February 2, 1923, in Sheldon, Iowa. She attended the Sheldon and Postville Public schools. After completing two years at the College of St. Catherine's in St. Paul, Minnesota, she graduated from the State University of Iowa in 1947. Having taught in high schools in Iowa and Minnesota, she was teaching in Fort Morgan, Colorado, until her marriage last June.
The Requiem High Mass was sung Tuesday morning in the Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. The Rev. F. J. Vallaster, Pastor of St. Bridget's Church, will conduct the burial services Thursday morning at 10:30 at the Postville cemetery.
Mrs. Work is survived by her husband, Merle of Weldona, Colorado, and three stepchildren: Steven, Patricia and Katherine. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Therese Myers, a brother Robert of Decorah, and her sister, Gretchen.
