Vic Scofield Funeral Held Here Monday
Former Local Resident Passes at Boscobel, Wis.
Victor Scofield, 67, a former resident of this community, passed away suddenly Friday morning at Boscobel, Wis., and funeral services were held here Monday forenoon at the Schutte Funeral Home, the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig officiating. Interment was in Postville cemetery.
Francis Victor Scofield was born in Boscobel, Wis., February 13, 1875, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Scofield. He attended the Boscobel schools and came to Postville when still a young man. Here he met Caroline Koevenig and the couple were married in 1905. Two children were born to this union, Harold with whom he made his home in Boscobel, and Pauline (Mrs. Fred Nause) of Milwaukee, Wis., who together with six grandchildren, survive him. Mrs. Scofield passed away in June of last year. Also surviving are five brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Scofield operated a livery barn in Postville for a number of years and about 30 years ago with his family moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where he made his home until his wife passed away.
Here for the funeral Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nause and children of Milwaukee; Harold Scofield and children of Boscobel; Mrs. J. D. Becker and son, Gerald, of Calmar; Mr. and Mrs. John Kluss of Castalia, and a brother of the deceased, James Scofield of Austin, Minn.
