DIED.-- Mrs. Frank Hartley died at her residence near this city last Saturday evening, of Consumption. She has been a sufferer from this dread malady for about six years, during which time the disease has slowly but firmly been fastening itself upon her vitals. About six months ago she was compelled to take to her bed, since which time her life has been ebbing away by degrees, and on Saturday last her tired and weary spirit was yielded to Him who gave it. She was a great sufferer, but bore it all with that patience and fortitude which only the true Christian possess in such trying ordeals as was Mrs. Hartley's long years of affliction. She was an old settler of this county, living for a number of years on a farm in Union City township, where the seeds of the disease had been sown by exposures and hard work while striving with her husband for that competency which they possessed, but which she lived so short a time to enjoy. She was a member of the Mount Hope Church, of Union City, whither her remains were taken yesterday for interment, followed by a large train of sorrowing friends.

Lansing Journal, 25 Oct. 1876 P 3 C 4
