Harpers Ferry - A pall of sadness was cast over this community when on last Thursday afternoon news came from Minneapolis that Mrs. Brazell had passed away. She had been in failing health for the past several months, but it was not until recently that her condition was considered serious.

Mrs. Brazell, who was formerly Nell Hennessey, was born September 14, 1860, and was united in marriage to N.J. Brazell November 27, 1883, at Paint Rock, which has been their home ever since.

The death of this good woman is sincerely mourned by her family and her numerous friends and acquaintances throughout Allamakee County. The church at which she worshipped and the community has suffered a great loss, for Mrs. Brazell was ever faithful to her duties and untiring in her efforts to promote good.

Besides the sorrowing husband she leaves to mourn her loss six children: Will, of Aberdeen, S.D.; Mary, of Minneapolis; Leo, of Harpers Ferry, and Dom, Clem and Raymond, at home. One son, John, died when nine years old; she is also survived by one sister, Sister M. Euphrosina, of Petaluma, Cal.; and one brother, Dennis Hennessey of Mason City; and a sister-in-law Mrs. Mulcahy who makes her home with them.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Paint Rock, Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Father Nolan officiated and preached a most eloquent and consoling sermon. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.
