Otto A. Jacobson, 724 North 10th street, died suddenly Saturday morning. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Jacobson, a resident of La Crosse for more than 28 years, was employed as a civil service ordnance inspector during World war II. Prior to that time he had served a partial term as supervisor for the first ward on the county board, resigning to take the civil service position.

He ran for sheriff on the Republican ticket during the 1946 elections and had served as a deputy under two previous sheriffs. Jacobson spent much time prior to his civil service appointment as an automobile mechanic.

Jacobson was a veteran of Word war I, having enlisted on May 25, 1917. He has a daughter, Arlene, and one son, James.

Funeral services for Otto A. Jacobson, who died suddenly Saturday, will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran church. The Rev. George Ulvilden will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the south side chapel of the Sletten-McKee company Monday evening from 7 to 9.

Jacobson was a member of the American Legion and FOE Aerie 1254.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Arlene; one son, James; and one brother, Ingeman Jacobson of Waterville, Ia.
