Mrs. Robert Thomson passed away at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, on Sunday following a brief illness. Death was due to a coronary heart condition.
As Martha Holz, she was born September 4, 1877, in Bromberg, Germany, a daughter of the late August and Ottilia (Bettin) Holz, living in New Albin most of her life, with the exception of nine months in Michigan.
On April 29, 1903, she was married to Robert Thomson at New Albin, who survives, making their home here.
She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Lois) Stevens, Janesville, Wis., and one son, Donald of New Albin. One daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Vera) Paulson preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Thomson observed their 60th wedding anniversary April 29, 1963.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Grace Methodist Church with Rev. E. DeBuhr, officiating. Burial was made in the New Albin cemetery. Casketbearers were Alvin Sires, Leon May, Peter Hartley, Leon Hosch, Harold Riehm, and Norbert Plagge.
