Albert O. Nelson, 83, New Albin, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 1984, in his home.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1901, in Boyd County, NE, to Ake and Christine (Carlson) Nelson. He married Leona Mettille on Oct. 10, 1931, in New Albin.

Nelson was a farmer and carpenter in Southeast Minnesota prior to his retirement when the couple moved to New Albin.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Harold of Lake Stevens, WA, Joe of Birmingham, AL, and Ralph of Tampa, FL; eight grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry of New Albin; and two sisters, Alice Moe of New Albin, and Marie Lucht of Winner, SD.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the New Albin Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert P. Rahe will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, new Albin, with military rites by New Albin VFW Post No. 5603.

Friends may call at the New Albin Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m., with a wake scripture service at 8 p.m.

The Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, is in charge of arrangements.
