Postville- LaVila A. Schmidt, 93, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, after a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, by Pastor Steve Brackett. Burial: Postville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, and one hour before services Thursday at the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Katherine "Kathy" (Cleone) Snitker of Postville and Renee (John) Bernath of Long Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
