WAUKON, Iowa-- Earl S. Beardmore, 80, retired farmer, died Monday, Feb. 15, in a Waukon hospital.Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Mount Hope Presbyterian Church, rural New Albin. Rev. William Tjaden will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin Brothers Funeral Home in Waukon.
He was born Jan. 26, 1891 near Dorchester to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Beardmore, and he married Myrtle Sadler Feb. 25, 1918, at Waukon.
She survives, as do four daughters, Mrs. Delton Mohwinkle and Mrs. Leon Schoh of Dorchester, Mrs. Bill Gustin of Blair, Neb., and Mrs. Nyles Herman of Waukon; one son, Glenn of rural Dorchester; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas of Charles City, Iowa, and John of rural Dorchester; and one sister, Daisy Beardmore, also of rural Dorchester.

Last Rites for Earl Beardmore
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. from Mount Hope Presbyterian church for Earl S. Beardmore, 80, of rural Dorchester, who died in Waukon Veterans Memorial hospital Feb. 15 following a short illness.
The Rev. William Tjaden officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.
Earl Stocks Beardmore, son of Alfred and Emma Beardmore, was born Jan. 26, 1891 in a log cabin on the family farm in Union City township of Allamakee county. He grew to manhood on this farm on English bench. He attended Waukon high school and an electrical school in Omaha, Neb. He returned to the farm because of his father's illness.
February 25, 1918 he married Myrtle Flavia Sadler and they were parents of five children. Since that time, they have lived on an adjoining farm and would have observed their 53rd wedding anniversary Feb. 25.
He leaves his wife, a son Glenn and four daughters, Mrs. Delton (Helen) Mohwinkle and Mrs. Leon (Jane) Schoh, both of Dorchester, Mrs. Willard (Mae) Gustin, Blair, Neb., and Mrs. Nyles (Ruby) Herman of Waukon. Twenty-five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Thomas of Charles City and John of Dorchester, and a sister Daisy Beardmore, also of Dorchester, also survive. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Arthur.
Mr. Beardmore was a life-long member of Mount Hope Presbyterian church, serving as trustee during the remodeling of the church, as an ordained elder, and officer of the cemetery association. He was active in community affairs.
Lyle Mohwinkle, Ralph Mohwinkle, Gregory Gustin, Richard Gustin, George Beardmore, John Beardmore, Gregg Schoh and Bradley Herman were pallbearers. Martin Brothers funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
