RICHARD COLVIN

Richard Colvin was born at Apple River, Jo Davis county, Ill., June 12, 1816*, and passed to the life beyond October 27, 1921, aged 75 years, 4 months and 15 days.

He came to Manchester, Iowa about 34 years ago. After three years there he removed to Allamakee county and this has been his home since that time. The last few years of his life were spent in Waukon.

Mr. Colvin was united in marriage with Miss Sylvia Allen at Darlington, Wis., April 12, 1868.

To them were born ten children, of whom seven survive as follows: Jesse, Phoebe, Mrs. Charles Davis, Frank, Bert, Mrs. Ben Davis, and Edward, all of whom are living in Allamakee county.

March 25th, 1918 Richard Colvin and his wife made confession of faith and were received into the Presbyterian church. Both of them were in poor health and were not able to enjoy the privileges of the Church save in their own home, but were glad to be a part of God's people.

Mrs. Colvin passed away from earth June 24th, 1918, and the husband has looked forward with hope to a glad reunion on the better shore.
Funeral Sunday at the Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. VanNice, assisted by the pastor, Rev. Utts.
