INGEBRITSON—At his residence in South Lansing, on Tuesday afternoon, George Ingebritson, aged about 64 years.
In the death of Mr. Ingebritson, or the “count of Norway,” as he has been called of late, Lansing loses one of its most peculiar citizens. Everybody knew the old man and laughed at his odd ways, and was afraid of his when angry. He was a native of Norway; a shoemaker by trade; he could speak English but poorly; and possessed one of the worst tempers any mortal ever heard of. He was always having a difficulty with someone, and indeed was a dangerous citizen. But he can no longer amuse or harm anyone. Let us remember the fun we have had with him, rather than his faults, and hope that the old gentleman has found a more peaceful abode that he ever enjoyed on earth.
