After an illness of some weeks, which from the beginning it was feared would prove fatal, our former citizen, Peter Wuest, died at his home in Sioux Falls, S. Dak., last Friday morning at the age of 65 years.

He removed from here in 1885, having been a continuous resident for thirty years. He was associated with Mr. Joseph Urmersbach in business in Lansing for several years, and was also in the hotel business here for a few years previous to the removal of the family to Sioux Falls. “Pete and Joe,” as they were familiarly called, were known far and near.

Mr. Wuest leaves a family of three sons, Victor, Theo, and Charles, and two daughters, Pauline and Clara. His wife survives him, though we believe she is in poor health. Mrs. Wuest is a sister of Mrs. Urmersbach and Mrs. M. Kerdnt. Of Mr. Wuest's funeral the Argus-Leader says it was one of the largest in the history of the city.
