Mrs. Gustave Russell of Ossian, who had been ill about a month, died Tuesday at Postville from a heart attack following surgery. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from Schutte funeral home, and burial was in the Postville cemetery.

Mrs. Russell, the former Julia Tollefson, was born December 22, 1906, daughter of Joe and Ellen Larson Tollefson. She had lived in Ossian rural community.

She and Gustave Russell were married October 23, 1922, at Dubuque. Mr. Russell remains, as do the following children: Norman Russell of Coggon, Nancy Russell of Woodward, Mrs. Lynn (Lillian) Winters of Postville, Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Marti of Lansing, Mrs. Gladys Ochoa of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Grant(Lois) Marti of Waukon. There are 24 grandchildren.

Living sisters are Selma of Minneapolis, Rose of Lansing, Johanna of Strawberry Point, and Tille of Des Moines.

Educated in the Gunder school Mrs. Russell was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran church.
