Waukon- Leroy Colsch, 71, died Friday in North Gate Manor Nursing Home, Waukon. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, rural Waukon. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hanson Funeral Home, Waukon, where a rosary will begin at 3 p.m. and a Scripture service will begin at 4 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; six daughters, Theresa Colsch of Waukon, Carol Smith of Spring Grove, Minn., Madonna Baker of Sparta, Wis., Christina Casey of Dodge Center, Minn., Anita Von Arx of Wykoff, Minn., and Karen Thomas of Austin, Minn.; nine sons, Donald of Canton, Minn., James of Byron, Minn., Paul of Marquette, John of Hokoh, Minn., Daniel of Rushford, Minn., Lyle and Gerald, both of Dorchester, Kenneth of Lewisville, Texas, and Charles of Monona; a sister, Arlene Swash of Oak Harbor, Wash.; and six brothers, Edward of Freeburg, Minn., Clem, Bob and Lloyd, all of New Albin, Harold of Waukon and Dale of Waverly.

Colsch, Leroy Lawrence 1921-1993

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon, for Leroy Lawrence Colsch, 71, of Waukon. He died Friday, Feb. 12, 1993,a t Northgate Care Center, Waukon.

The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Ed Lechtenberg officiated. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Leroy was born Dec. 29, 1921, in New Albin, to Nicholas and Charlotte (Theobold) Colsch. On Sept. 9, 1941, he and Margaret Schultz were married in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin. He was a farmer and had been a resident of Northgate Care Center for two weeks.

Survivors are his wife; six daughters, Theresa Colsch of Waukon, Carol Smith of Spring Grove, MN, Madonna Baker of Sparta, WI, Christina Casey of Dodge Center, MN, Anita Von Arx of Wycoff, MN, and Karen Thomas of Austin, MN; and nine sons, Donald of Canton, MN, James of Byron, MN, Paul of Marquette, John of Hokah, MN, Daniel of Rushford, MN, Lyle of Dorchester, Kenneth of Lewisville, TX, Charles of Monona, and Gerald of Dorchester.

Also surviving are one sister, Arlene Swosh of Oak Harbor, WA; six brothers, Edward of Freeburg, MN, Clem and Bob of New Albin, Harold of Waukon, Dale of Waverly, and Lloyd of New Albin; 35 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Josh, Shawn, Bill, Matt, Mike and Fred Colsch, Preston Baker, and Ed and Brian Smith.

Honorary casket bearers were the staff of Northgate Care Center.
