Gloria Zeimet, age 67, of Waukon and formerly of rural Lansing, died Saturday, October 4, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing with Msgr. Edward Lechtenberg officiating. Burial will be in Wexford Immaculate Conception Cemetery, rural Lansing, at a later date. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing. Gloria was born in El Reno, Okla. September 21, 1936, to Frank and Josephine (Lewis) Hodgkinson. She was married to Adrian J. Zeimet in 1956 in California. Most of her adult life, Gloria lived in Allamakee County, raising her children in the Wexford area. From September of 1989 until the present she was Direct Support Professional at Mosaic (formerly Martin Luther Homes) of Waukon. Gloria was a supportive mother to all her children, and was very active with her youngest daughter who has special needs. She also devoted herself to the developmentally disabled adults of the area. Gloria enjoyed many fun outings at The Isle of Capri and the social times with her friends. She will also be remembered for her Biblical quotes which were part of her spirituality. Gloria is survived by seven children, Frank (Kimberly) Zeimet of Mission Viejo, Calif., John (Joyce) Zeimet of Camdenton, Mo., Robert (Barbara) Zeimet of DeSoto, Wis., Catherine (Bob) Stevenson of DeSoto, Kenneth Zeimet of San Pedro, Calif., Teresa (Tim) Jandrey of Gilbert, Minn., and Debra Zeimet of Waukon; 13 grandchildren; and one brother; Ted Hodgkinson of Mojave, Calif. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Francine Hawley. The family requests that memorials be directed to Mosaic of Waukon.
