Joseph Kennedy, age 93, of Surprise, Ariz., and formerly of Lansing, died Tuesday, August 12, 2003, in Peoria Ariz. Burial was in Veterans National Cemetery, Phoenix, Ariz.
Joseph Curran Kennedy was born April 21, 1910 in Lansing, Iowa, the son of Henry Joseph and Mary Curran Kennedy. He graduated from high school in Lansing. On May 6, 1933, he married Marion Friberg in Aurora, Ill. The couple lived in Rockford, Ill., in Cedar Falls for over 40 years, and Sun City West, Peoria, and Surprise, Ariz. Joseph served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945. He was the owner of a publishing company and a member of the Unitarian Church in Peoria. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry C. Kennedy, James J. Kennedy, and Robert Saxe. His wife, Marion, passed away shortly after, September 18, 2003. A memorial service for Joseph and his wife will be held in early November at Veterans National Cemetery.
