Funeral services for Mrs. Luis Gjefle were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the West Synod Lutheran Church, Waukon, with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Gjefle passed away Friday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Hospital after a period of illness.

Born in Winneshiek County on Aug. 28, 1892, she was a daughter of Ole and Bertha Nelson Haas. She was married March 31, 1915 to Louis Gjefle, who survives. They had lived most of their married life on farms in Jefferson township.

Also surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Frank Thies (Arlene), Waukon; Mrs. Charles Gress (Norma), Cedar Falls; Mrs. Stanley Marshall (Lillian), Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother Olger Haas, Lansing and sister, Mrs. Don Henly, Brawley, Calif.
