Funeral services for Patrick Cahalan were held Saturday morning from Pluemer and Hanson's funeral home to the St. Pius church at Cherry Mound with the Rev. Albert Nees officiating. Burial was in the cemetery nearby.

Mr. Cahalan passed away Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Oscar Thompson at Rossville after a long illness. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Cahalan, early residents of this county, the deceased was born January 26, 1866 in the Harpers Ferry vicinity. After his marriage to Lulu Atall, the couple settled on a farm where they resided for the greater part of their lives.

Surviving to mourn his passing are his daughter, Mrs. Oscar Thompson, five brothers, James of Harpers Ferry, Eugene of Waukon Junction, Paul of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Martin of Great Falls, Mont., and Aaron of Seattle, Wash.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Winnie Shannon of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Carol Allen of Edgerton, Wis., and Sister Mary Camasia of Milwaukee.
