Waukon- Walter R. Magner, 94, of Elgin, Ill., formerly of Waukon, died of heart complications Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, in Benchmark Retirement Center, Hoffman Estates, Ill. Services were Jan. 30 in St. Hubert Church, Elgin, Ill., with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Arrangements were with Ahlgrim & Sons, Schaumburg, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Rose Mary Kurtz of Chrystal Lake, Ill.; a son, William of Berwyn, Ill.; two brothers, Urban of Waukon and Paul of Iowa City; and a sister, Beatrice Fahey of Waukon.
