Prairie du Chien, Wis. - Funeral services for George Martell, 47, were held at St. Gabriel's Church here with Father Smith in charge.

Mr. Martell was born Feb. 22, 1892 at Harpers Ferry, Ia. and he came to Prairie du Chien when a small boy. In 1917 he enlisted in the Army and served overseas for 13 months, receiving his honorable discharge in 1918. In 1920 he went to Duluth, Minn., where he married Miss Cecilia La Voie on May 17, 1921. Later they moved to Baraboo and in 1929 returned to Prairie du Chien where he was a weaver in the Prairie du Chien Woolen Mills.

He is survived by his widow; one brother, William of Wheatland, Wyo.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Burke of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Emma Du Charme of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Clem Slaby of Davenport, Ia.
