Catherine Farley, 88, died Monday in Northgate Manor Nursing Home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial: West Ridge Cemetery, rural Waukon. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Hanson Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a Scripture service held at 8 p.m.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Lueken of Fereinane, Ind.; two sons, Paul and Bill, both of Waukon; and a sister, Helen Ward of Waukon.

Farley, Catherine F. (Ward) 1902-1991

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 21, for Catherine F. Farley, 88, of Waukon, who died Monday, Feb. 18, at Northgate Care Center. The 10:30 a.m. services were conducted at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon, with Fr. John Moser officiating. Burial was in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, West Ridge, with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 30, 1902, at Hanover, Allamakee County, to William and Anna (Cavanaugh) Ward, and graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in Dubuque in 1919. She was a rural school teacher before her marriage, Sept. 5, 1923, to Charles J. Farley, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hanover. For over 60 years, they were residents of the West Ridge area, where they were members of St. John the Baptist Church. In 1983, they moved to Waukon where she was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons, Bill and Paul, both of Waukon; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Lorraine) Lueken of Ferdinand, IN; 14 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Ward of Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986; a son, John; a daughter, Marie; three sisters, Veronica, Josephine and Cecily; and a brother, John.

Casket bearers were her grandsons, Mike, Gary, Joe, Mark, Greg, Larry and James Farley.

Honorary casket bearers were Joe Sweeney, Jim McCormick, John McMorrow, Mike Mahoney, Phil Liddiard and Pat Curtin.
