Funeral services for Mrs. Hollis Enyart were held in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, Tuesday, August 29, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dick Harberts officiating. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Velma Mae Christofferson, daughter of Walter and Mary Christofferson, was born in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, November 17, 1900. She lived her entire life in and around Postville. She received her education in rural schools in the community and attended the former Methodist Church when she was young.

On June 14, 1928, she was united in marriage to Hollis W. Enyart at Waukon, and to this union three children were born: Robert, Mary and Ellen. Velma was baptized and joined the Community Presbyterian Church July 3, 1949. She was a member of the Postville Community Republican Women's Club.

Following a lingering illness, Velma died at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, Sunday, August 27.

She is survived by her husband, Hollis, and three children, Robert of Postville, Mrs. Myrten (Mary) Strong of Elgin, and Mrs. Kenneth (Ellen) Schroeder of Postville. There are seven grandchildren: Charles, Cathy and Chris Enyart; David and Robert Strong; John and Douglas Schroeder. Also two brothers: William and Herman Christofferson of Postville, and one sister, Mrs. Albert (Alice) Backhaus of Postville.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Christofferson and two sisters: Mrs. Clara Bente, and Mrs. Anna Bente. also six brothers: Henry, Elmer, Elbe, Louis, Harvey, and Leonard Christofferson: an infant grandson, Randy Schroeder and an infant granddaughter, Cindy Sue Strong.
