John Stussy

John P. Stussy, 72, of Lansing passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. A Celebration of Life Gathering was held Saturday, August 31 at John’s home in Lansing.

John Peter, the son of Peter and Helen (Harter) Stussy, was born September 23, 1940 in Seneca, WI. He graduated from Gays Mills High School in 1958.

John was united in marriage with Kathleen Carroll May 26, 1962. They were later divorced. John was then united in marriage with Sharon Erickson November 20, 1999.

John ran the Lansing Livewire Newspaper, was the Kwik Trip manager, and owned Stussy Construction for many years. He was a member of the Lansing Fire Department and Ambulance and the Lansing Lion’s Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

“He may not have always been right, but he was never wrong.”

John is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Lansing; six children, Jymmer Hitt of La Crosse, WI, Mary Stussy of Paramount, CA, Jim Stussy of La Crosse, WI, Kay Stussy of Lansing, Jerry (Angie) Stussy of Lansing, and Wendy Larsen of Lansing; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his beloved dog, Riley.

John was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; a brother, who died in infancy; and a family pet, Nelson.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing assisted the family with arrangements.
