Theodore Anderson

Funeral services for Ted Anderson were held Wednesday, May 25, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran church, Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Theodore R. Anderson, son of Samual and Ida (Saxon) Anderson, was born September 9, 1902 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. He died Sunday, May 22, 1988 in the Northgate Care Center at Waukon, Iowa.

He was baptized June 3, 1945, and confirmed June 10, 1945 by the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. He attended the Waterville school at Waterville and also the Parks Air College at St. Louis, Missouri.

He married Grace Cayton at LaCrosse on November 12, 1941. Ted was employed by the Telephone Company at Waterville and then the Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative. For several years, he operated Ted's Electric Company in Postville and then was employed by Community Memorial Hospital.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He has also been a member of the Postville Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Grace, who died in 1986.

Surviving are a son, Richard James Cayton and his wife, Patricia, of Wilton, Iowa, 5 grandchildren, Mark, Kevin, James, Denise Mettner, and Diana Baccarini, 9 great-grandchildren, Kelly Cayton, Mathew Mettner, Melinda Mettner, Korey Cayton, Samantha Mettner, Kimberly Cayton, Nicole Cayton, Michele Baccarini and Alyssa Baccarini.

Casket Bearers: Mark Richard Cayton, Kevin Rick Cayton, James Elliott Cayton, Tom Mettner, Louis Baccarini, Boyd Groezinger.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Loren Meyer, Carl Meade, Donald Kugel, Everett Cook, A. Burr Cook.
