Ralph A. Snitker
Funeral services for Ralph A. Snitker, 64, were held Friday, November 22, 1991 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salem United Church of Christ. Reverend Doctor Elsa Marsland officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were Kenneth Sohn, David Gerleman, Virgil Thorstenson, Don Sherman, James Koenig, Michael Koenig, Larry Koester and Dervin Kruger. Honorary bearers were Gordon Tangen, Lloyd Weber, Joe Sweeney, Nelson Sherman, Orville Ehde, Nyles Herman, Robert Stuckman, Marcus Brandt, Roland Folsom and Leslie Leithold. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Ralph was born April 5, 1927 to August Herman and Martha (Becker) Snitker in Waukon. He died November 20, 1991 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
Ralph attended school at Ludlow No. 2 Elementary school.
Ralph was a lifetime area resident, member of the Switzerland of Iowa Harmonizers Barbershoppers for many years, the Farm Bureau, Salem Church Choir and was active in many other activities at Salem. Ralph was a great lover of music of all kinds. He was particularly fond of The Toe Tappers group.
He was preced in death by his parents; sisters: Inez Gerleman, Florence Koenig and Norma Kruger as well as an infant brother.
Surviving Ralph are sisters Mildred (Mrs. Roy) Sohn, Sheboygan, WI; Loraine Kruger, Decorah; Ruby (Mrs. Loren), Postville and LaVerne (Mrs. Donald) Koester, West Union. Also surviving are a brother-in-law Leonard Koenig, and many nieces and nephews.
