Obituary of Conrad Goeke Waukon Republican-Standard March 1, 1949

Was a longtime resident of Allamakee County

Funeral services for Conrad Goeke, 82, Ludlow township farmer, will be held this afternoon at Martin's funeral home, conducted the the Rev. E. L. Hennig. Burial takes place in Oakland cemetery, the following serving as pallbearers: Elmer Adams, Raymond Shafer, Ed, Paul and Ben Fiet and Fred Kugel.

Mr. Goeke died Saturday at his home in Ludlow township, following an illness of ten years duration. He was born February 11, 1867, to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Goeke at Manitowoc, Wis. He came to Allamakee county eighty years ago, settling in Ludlow and joined the Bethlehem church.

On October 19, 1898 his marriage to Henrietta Kaeser took place at Baxter, Iowa. No children came to bless this union. For a few years engaged in the carpenter trade along with his farm work. He was the last living member of his family. His widow survives.
