Esther Kosbau Dies in Minnesota

Esther L. Kosbau of Waukon died Friday, Nov. 30 in a Shakopee, MN hospital. She was 83 years old.

She was born Jan. 1, 1896 in Allamakee county, a daughter of Fred and Anna Umbreit Hansmeier. She attended local schools and married Otto Kosbau May 9, 1917 in Waukon.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter Mrs. Glenn (Doloris) Beckman of Prior Lake, MN, a brother Alfred Hansmeier of Waukon, and two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Erna) Nelson of Waterloo,(IA) and Mrs. Clara Raymond of Dallas, TX. Two sons, Donald and Kleo, three sisters, Ella, Lillian, and Helen and a brother Calvin preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ of which Mrs. Kosbau was a member. The Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiated and burial was in Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Arnold Olson, James Nelson Adams, Leon Hansmeier, Otto Nolting and Robert Stock.

Martin funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
