Waukon - Funeral services for Jess Colvin, 72, were held here Friday afternoon at Martin Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. August Gre--heim, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Colvin died Wednesday at the Allamakee General Hospital following a series of strokes.

He was born Oct. 24, 1870, at Joliet, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Colvin. He accompanied his parents to Allamakee County at an early age.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Edward Fish, of Waukon; two sisters, Phoebe Colvin and Mrs. Ben Davis, both of Waukon; and two brothers, Bert, of Woodward, and Frank, on the homestead.

In the above obit for Jess Colvin – the name of the minister was in question – the minister would have been August Henry Grossheim.
