Dorchester Girl Is Killed in Milwaukee
Waukon, Ia – Special: Teresia (sic) Schulte, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schulte, farmers, living near Dorchester, Ia., was killed in a streetcar accident in Milwaukee, Wis., Monday afternoon. The body will be brought to the Hakke & Hanson Funeral Home here from where the funeral will be held to St. Mary’s Church, Dorchester, the time to be announced later.

Details concerning the girl’s death were not learned.

She was a member of the 1944 high school graduating class. Last week she went to Milwaukee to visit friends and also to seek employment.

Besides her parents she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Tierney, residing with the Schulte’s, as her husband is in the service, seven brothers, Clarence, Vincent, Henry, Richard, Francis, Corporal Joseph Schulte, stationed at Fort Bragg, and Sergeant Warren Schulte, somewhere in France.

Dorchester, Ia. - Funeral services for Miss Theresa Schulte, 18, who was killed when struck by a street car in Milwaukee, Wis., Monday afternoon, were held at St. Mary's Church here Thursday morning. The Rev. Michael J. Brogan, pastor, celebrated the requiem mass. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery.

Miss Schulte, with Miss Lucille Teff, also of Dorchester, went to Milwaukee to seek employment and were staying with Mrs. Gilbert Albert, aunt to Miss Teff. The two girls had been downtown, and on their return on a street car rode a block too far. Alighting, they had started to cross the street when another car came around the corner. Miss Teff jumped to safety, while Miss Schulte was struck and was instantly killed.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1925, and graduated from Waukon High School this year. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Schulte, who survive, with a sister, Mrs. Mary Tierney, at home and seven brothers, Cpl. Joseph Schulte, at Fort Bragg, N.C., who attended the funeral, Sgt. Lawrence Schulte, serving overseas, Clarence, Vincent and Henry, all living in the Dorchester vicinity, and Bernard and Francis at home.
