Lansing, Ia. - funeral services for Mrs. Charles Aird, 78, who died suddenly Thursday at the summer home of her son, Clifton, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Federated Church here. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

As Laura Belle Williams, she was born at Monona, Ia., on Feb. 27, 1866, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Williams. She was a teacher of music until her marriage to Charles Aird at St. Ansgar, Ia., in 1884. They came to Lansing where Mr. Aird was a blacksmith and where their nine children were born. A son died at the age of nine.

The Aird family left Lansing in 1909 and took up residence on a ranch in Wecota, S.D. Mr. Aird died in 1928, and Mrs. Aird has since spent her winters at Cushing, Okla., and summers at Lansing and other places with her children.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Cushing and of the Royal Neighbors of America at Ipswisch, Mich.

Surviving are eight children, Mrs. J.A. Smith, Noonon, S.D.; C.J. Aird, Redlands, Clif.; Hartford G. Aird, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Jessie Wilmarth, Cushing, Okla.; Ellen Flanders Aird, Washington, D.C.; C. Clifton Aird, Oxford, Ohio; Ralph E. Aird, Rochester, Minn.; and Mrs. H.A. Bergen, Ft. Dodge, Ia. There are six grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body is resting at the Fitschen Funeral Parlors until the hour of services.

A subsequent issue of the paper stated that the funeral had been held and gave this list of casketbearers:
George Aschom, E.B. Gaunitz, John Schafer, Charles Bishoff, W.F. Saam and Thomas Gilbertson.
