Funeral Services are held today for Harold Mooney

Harold Michael Mooney, of rural Harpers Ferry, died May 19, 1986 at St. Fancis Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisc.

He was born June 5, 1906 in Lafayette township, the son of Michael and Bridget (Kernan) Mooney. He married Helen Schwartzhoff on Oct 1, 1927 in Harpers Ferry. They farmed in the Wexford area for many years.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Maurice of rural Harpers Ferry and Thomas of Cedar Rapids; two daughters Jeanne Norton of Atlanta, Ga. and Mona Chapman of Galena, Illinois; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Mohn and Catherine Wadsworth, both of Waukon.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 21, at 11 a.am. at Immaculate conception Church, Wexford. Fr. John Smith officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Stan Schwartzfoff, Sean Mooney, Jim Wadsworth, Rick Chapman, George Delaney, Ray Callahan, Matt Mooney and Bill Mohn.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Mullen, Steve O'Neill, Virgil Whittle, Rudolph Dehli, Jim Houlihan, Tom Kerndt, Cyril Murphy and Harry Theis.
