Frederick Lloyd Bollman
Frederick Lloyd Bollman, 62, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, died in his home Thursday, December 20, 2012.
He was born March 6, 1950 in Postville, Iowa to Lawrence Moody and Helen (Krambeer) Bollman. He was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa. Fred attended and graduated from M-F-L Community Schools in 1969.
Fred was a veteran of the Armed Forces and served in the Vietnam War. He held an apprenticeship in Carpentry and worked for various companies, including Design Homes, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Swiss Valley Cheese Plant, Luana, Iowa and the Turkey Processing Plant in Postville, Iowa. His favorite past times were fishing, hunting and collecting arrow heads. He also enjoyed spending time with his many nephews and nieces.
Fred is survived by 7 brothers and sisters, Raymond (Joan) Bollman of Swisher, Jane (Don) Kregel of Luana, Loretta Bollman of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Lillian (Ron) Kidman of Jackson, Michigan, Karen (Philip) Holvenstot of New Hope, Minnesota, Robert (Maxine) Bollman of Osage; and JoAnn Bollman of Arlington, Texas; brother-in-law, Jim Farmer of Gunder; sister-in-law, Fran Bollman of Waukon; 27 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and many special friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Helen Bollman; his sister, Marie Farmer and his brother, LeRoy Bollman.
A Celebration of Life was held at 11 a.m. on July 20, 2013 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa with Rev. Dennis Hopes as the officiant.
Inurnment followed at the Monona Cemetery, Monona, Iowa.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service helped the family with the arrangements.
