Iowa Volksblatt, 26 March 1897, and re-printed in the Postville 25 Years Ago column of the Postville Herald of 23 March 1922.

Lena McDaneld passed away on last Tuesday, her 24th birthday, after a lingering illness with consumption. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon and was attended by a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends.
