Bertha Freiderika Dell, nee Meyer, was born Sept. 7, 1868, in Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany, and in May, 1878, came to America with her parents, first settling at Algona and later coming to Postville, where on November 29, 1889, she was married to Wm. Dell. Five children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. They moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1899 and returned to this locality again in 1911, being now located on a farm near Luana, where she died on Sunday morning last. She had been sick since last fall and three weeks ago submitted to an operation at Rochester, Minn. She is survived by her husband and three children- Mrs. Else Cronn of Sioux Falls and Edmund and Will at home, beside her father, Carl Meyer of Luana; sister, Mrs. Minnie Johnke, and one grandchild.

She was buried Wednesday afternoon from St. Paul's Lutheran church, Postville.
