MaryAnn Charlene Dundee, 70, of Waukon died Friday, May 17, 2013 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon. Funeral Services were held Thursday, May 23 at First Baptist Church in Waukon. Burial was at Postville Cemetery, Postville.
She was born December 23, 1942 to Orville and Emily (Schultz) Nuehring in Monona. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Monona. MaryAnn attended Luana Country Schools.
MaryAnn was united in marriage with Albert Dundee October 3, 1959 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Five children were born to this union. They lived in the Luana area and Mary worked for Iowa Turkey Products in Postville for 34 years. She and Albert also were caretakers for several Luana area cemeteries. After Albert died in the early 1990s, Mary moved to Postville and later to Waukon.
MaryAnn loved to play bingo and cards, especially euchre. She also liked doing puzzles, gardening, canning and baking. She relished going to social gatherings and coffee times with family and friends, but she will also be remembered for being very hard working.
MaryAnn is survived by four children, Kevin (Bonnie) Dundee of Luana, Jean (David) Schon of Waukon, Lee Dundee of Oelwein and Joe (fiancée, Lisa) Dundee of Shellsburg; 10 grandchildren, Bethany and Shawn Dundee, Nathan and Alissa Schon and Haley, Jordon, Austin, Meleah, Christian and Destiny Dundee; two great-grandchildren, Braxsten and Ashtyn Dundee; six sisters, Melvina Pearson of Waukon, Marranda (Dennis) Larson of Atkins, Marilyn Martie of Waukon, Marlene (Dick) Yauslin of Elgin, Margaret (Tom) Jones of Castalia and Marcia (Dusty) Solem of Prairie du Chien, WI; five brothers, Orville (June) Nuehring of Monona, Otto (Charlotte) Nuehring of Waukon, Owen Nuehring of Wells, MN, Oliver (Frances) Nuehring of Virginia and Omar Nuehring of Postville; and many nieces and nephews.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; her son, Wayne; her parents; and two brothers-in-law, Wayne Martie and Ralph Pearson.
Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service is helping the family with the arrangements.
