William C. Meyer was born in Clayton county, Iowa, March 18, 1861, and died at his home near Postville at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 1913, aged 52 years, 2 months and 16 days.

Four years ago disease laid hold of him, since which he has been a patient sufferer. All that medical skill and tender care could do for him was done, but without avail. He was an honest, industrious man of good repute, esteemed by his neighbors and friends, and the sympathy of all is with those that mourn his loss.

He was married to Ida Reincke, October 13, 1893, who with five sons, five brothers- Henry, August, Herman, David and John, three sisters- Mrs. Frank Sebastian, Mrs. Geo. Thoma and Mrs. Fred Schara, survive to mourn his loss.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at two o'clock this afternoon, Rev. R. Kuehne officiating. Interment in Postville cemetery.
