Mrs. Minnie Everman, mention of whose critical illness we made last week, passed away at Postville Hospital during the early morning hours of Friday, March 3rd, 1933, aged 74 years two months and 29 days.
Minnie Maria Baethke was born in Niendorf, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, December 4, 1858, where she was baptized and confirmed.
She was married to Frederick Wilhelm Christof Everman in the year 1882. To this union were born four sons, William, Rudolph and Walter, living near Postville, and Fred, living near Castalia; and one daughter, Mrs. Cynthia Baltz of Castalia.
They came to America in 1891, living on a farm near Luana for three years, then moved on a farm west of Postville where they resided for eight years, and later purchased the Harman farm just west of the corporation of Postville, where her husband preceded her in death fourteen years ago. Mrs. Everman continued to conduct the farm until three years ago when she took up her residence in Postville.
Besides those above mentioned, Mrs. Everman is survived by fourteen grandchildren, a sister in Germany and many friends.
She was a communicant member of St. Paul's Lutheran church of this city and a member of the Ladies' Aid Society. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to a sick neighbor or friend, and will be greatly missed by everyone.
The funeral was held from St. Paul's Lutheran church in this city Monday afternoon, March 6th, at two o'clock, Dr. R.B. Garten officiating. Interment was made in Postville cemetery. The Ladies' Aid Society attended the funeral in a body.
