John W. Coon, at one time a Postville resident, died at his home in Waukon last Sunday, aged 58 years, eight months and five days, death resulting from an incurable throat disease. He was born at Hardin, Iowa, August 22, 1854, and was married to Mary VanGorder, Nov. 11, 1884, who with a son, two daughters, a brother, sister and half-brother survive him. The funeral was held Tuesday. He was a genial and companionable man, whose passing will be regretted by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
