DIED- At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jos. Steele, Thursday, January 3, 1895, of general debility resulting from old age, Joseph Ryan.

Deceased was born in County Limerick, Ireland, in 1901, and came to the United States in 1838, settling in Illinois. 1n 1856 he moved to Grand Meadow township, Clayton county, in this state, and has lived in this neighborhood ever since. He was the father of five children - one son and four daughters - of whom only one, Mrs. Jos. Steele, survives him. His wife died in 1870. The funeral services were held at Postville Saturday morning, Rev. Father Hogan officiating. The remains were taken to Clermont for burial, and tenderly laid in their last resting place, under the ministering hands of Rev. Father Coyle.
