Former Resident Is Interred Last Week At Marshalltown

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Marshalltown for Eugene Stockman who passed away at 7:30 a.m. February 28 at Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown where he had been a patient for 5 days. Mr. Stockman was a former resident of this community.

Eugene Stockman was born January 25, 1870 in Kentucky and when 5 years old moved with his parents to Postville where he resided until 1900 when he moved to Marshalltown. While in Postville he was engaged in the furniture and undertaking business and after going to Marshalltown was employed by the Gard Furniture Company until 1926. He has been retired since that time.

Mr. Stockman was married in Postville in 1894 to Miss Anna Koevenig. She died in 1947.

Surviving are 2 children, Miss Emma Stockman and Joseph Stockman, both of Marshalltown. Mr. Stockman was a member of the Congregational Church.
