Leona W. Howe, 91 of Waukon died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999 at the Good Samaritan Center. The daughter of Edward and Grace (O'Donnell) Howe, she was born Nov. 10, 1908 in Waukon. Leona attended high school in Waukon and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She is survived by a brother Walter Howe of Waukon. Preceding her in death were brothers, Joseph, James, Francis and Donald Howe; half brothers, Alfred, Thomas and John Howe, and two sisters, Mamie Dvergsten and Alice Abel. Funeral services were held at 11 A.M. Thursday, Feb. 18 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in MT. Olivet Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Colin Howe, Brad Bloxham, Curtis Piggott, Leon Schulte, Lennie Burke and John Kerndt.
