Mrs. Anna Niepel, relict of the late August Niepel, died at the family home on west Main street (Lansing) Wednesday morning in the 66th year of her age. She had been ailing for more than a year and unable to care for herself a greater part of the time, a daughter, Miss Gertrude, and only child, looking after her every want. She was born in Germany, July 30, 1847. Her marriage to August Niepel took place there and they came to Lansing 28 years ago in August, Mr. Niepel dying Dec. 22, 1899. Four sons born to them are also dead. The late Henry Bensch was a brother and Mrs. Pauline Haas of Dubuque is a sister of deceased. Mrs. Haas came up Tuesday and was with her sister when the end came. The funeral takes place this afternoon. Rev. Kegel of the German Presbyterian church officiating and interment beside her husband in Oak Hill.
