Carl Breeser Dies at 94
Carl Breeser, 94, of New Albin, died on Wednesday, March 10, in La Crosse Lutheran Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1887 in Houston county to Henry and Mary (Rober) Breeser. He married Laura Pottratz on Feb. 20, 1917 in Wheatland. The couple farmed in the New Albin area until 1956, when they moved to New Albin.
Survivors are their three sons, Walter of New Albin, Robert of Caledonia, Minn. and Edward of Decorah; one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Thomas, of New Albin; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. John’s United Church of Christ in Wheatland. The Rev. Milton Kading officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. The Potter-Haugen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were John Breeser, Louis Breeser, Carl Tompkins, Norbert Protsman, Cleon Sires and Curtis Wild.

Celebrates 93rd
Mr. Carl Breeser of New Albin quietly celebrated his 93rd birthday at his home on Saturday, June 14. He continues to enjoy fairly good health, although he is hampered by rheumatism and is pretty much confined to his chair. He has three sons, Walter of New Albin, Robert of Caledonia, and Edward of Decorah, and a daughter, Ethel, who has been taking care of him since the death of his wife in April of 1977.
